About the event

"Backyard Beekeeping: An introduction"

Come along to bee school and learn more.

The morning is a practical introduction to backyard beekeeping.

Topics include:

  • life in the bee colony, 
  • beekeeping according to the seasons, 
  • beehive equipment, including the Flow Hive, 
  • pests and disease, 
  • registration and record-keeping for PIRSA, 
  • "How can I get started?"

Duration: 90 minutes followed by Q and A discussion.

    We have a pop-up shop after the event selling books, honey and bee wax food wraps. Purchases can be made with cash or card. No live bees or apiary visit.
