Are you interested in beekeeping? Want to learn more? This event will give you all you need to know about "how to get started" in beekeeping. This is an "in-person" event. Meet with Phil from Adelaide Bee Sales; an experienced commercial beekeeper who started with one hive in the backyard.

About the event

"Backyard Beekeeping: An introduction"

Come along to bee school and learn more.

The evening is a practical introduction to backyard beekeeping.

Topics include:

  • life in the bee colony, 
  • beekeeping according to the seasons, 
  • beehive equipment, including the Flow Hive, 
  • pests and disease, 
  • registration and record-keeping for PIRSA, 
  • "How can I get started?"

At 9 pm there will be honey tasting and coffee.  

Duration: 90 minutes followed by Q and A discussion.

Presenter: Phil Marshall, the Beekeeper's Coach from Adelaide Bee Sales.
